New thread so I’ll re-post this...they’re listed in order of games played.

I’ve been looking through the Canucks all-time stats to try and figure out who our best ever defenceman is, stipulation is you must have played 400+ games with the franchise, so a good healthy contribution and sample size. I just can’t bring myself to say Alex Edler is that guy. It’s not a great list and a major downfall for the Canucks.

I’d have to go with 1) Jovo 2) Lumme 3) Öhlund 4) Edler 5) Lidster

Last thread you were asking about the facial expressions of sign language...

In American Sign Language, certain mouth and eye movements serve as adjectival or adverbial modifiers.

It’s an essential part of the language I guess. The guy doing our provincial announcements is amazing. I can’t stop watching him.

Ohlund has always been my favorite but I do recognize Edler as the best. You are correct it is not a strong list.

Hughes will probably top that list in 5 years .

Great stuff Carol, i find the old stephen king novels don’t hold up too well. They’re really long-winded for not much of a reason. His prose got so much better.

Final note: ufa wishlist time?

Funny that Ehrhoff only played two seasons (159 games) for the Canucks but had close to 100 points in that time (best two years of his career).

Great cast of players those two years. He turned that into MILLIONS with his next contract.

Why put a limit on it! I think tanev will be back. We cant afford much after that, but Toffoli is at the top of the list for me. After that i would mind a cheap shortterm vet dman. Kevin miller, trevor daley, and ron hainsey all come to mind. Keep the term and price down but get some solid depth. If we get those two things, ill be pretty happy.

Stecher is likely to get traded just for cap reasons. I like the kid, but for an undrafted ufa to become actually valuable is a big win for JB imo. Wondering what happens there

Thanks Carol....and you're very welcome for the recommendation. It's the very least I can so for all of your great work and dedication here. That particular album and movie changed the way I view music and my playing...and life in general. It really is like a warm blanket.

my lasting memory of ehrhoff is him turning away from the puck to avoid the hit in the SCF. enraged me at the time. now i just sigh.

ohlund is the best. great combination of toughness, skill and defence... and he dropped the mitts against iginla. respect!

After looking through the NHL teams best defenceman lists, ours actually isn’t that bad. Do you know Tyson Barrie is the Colorado Avalanche’s all-time leading dman for points

And yes, Öhlund was great, he wasn’t great at anything but he was very good at most.
